There will also be a panel with the director of the short film, Brendan Byrne, and people who appear in it, Manuel Rodriguez and Anna Lucia Lopez from the organizations Rio Arriba and Out of the Boat. The panel will be moderated by Paul Ganster, San Diego State University scholar and expert on binational issues.
Thursday, October 8th, 2020. 12:30 PM Reimagining the Tijuana River
We will also have the presentation of the talk “Reimagining the Tijuana River” by Tijuana’s Antonieta Peregrina and Sergio Soto; they will present examples of different rivers around the world where the participation of citizens was fundamental to achieve their regeneration. In the talk, Antonieta and Sergio propose a model of participation whereby Tijuana residents can lead the Tijuana River rescue efforts so that it may become a source of pride for this great city. Finally, civil society groups from both sides of the border will present the ideas of residents focused on ensuring that the Tijuana River becomes a true icon of this great Tijuana-San Diego region.

Presentation of the finalists and winning projects of the 5th Academic Environmental Fair organized by Tijuana Verde of Tijuana Innovadora with the participations of more than 10 educational institutions and over 30 projects proposed by young students from the region, all designed to benefit the city’s environment.
The program will include a review of Tijuana Verde’s activities over the last 10 years and will end with a series of videos made by some of our allies in which they will present some of their efforts to promote a Green Tijuana.
